Donald Trump’s new social media platform will ‘redefine the game,’ top aide says

It’s difficult to imagine a world in which former President Donald Trump isn’t posting his unfiltered thoughts and opinions on social media in the middle of the night, as we’ve experienced over the past few months, but that will soon change according to one of his aides.

According to the New York Post, within the next few months, the former president will reportedly launch a brand new social media platform that will “completely redefine the game,” according to Jason Miller, one of Trump’s closest aides.

What’s this mean?

A number of alternative social media platforms emerged in the wake of Trump being banned from Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and every other top-tier social platform in existence, following the tragic events that occurred at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

Many of those platforms, like Parler and Gab, already existed, but received huge boosts in traffic, with all of them presumably vying for Trump supporters who were soured over the president’s permanent ban from the most popular networks.

However, during a recent interview, Miller added fuel to the fire of speculation that Trump will soon launch his own social media platform, which certainly would cause an exceedingly rare disruption in the social media world, as the former president not only has the monetary resources and investors to make it happen, but he also has what most networks do not when starting out — tens of millions of loyal followers.

“I do think we’re going to see President Trump returning to social media in probably about two or three months here with his own platform,” Miller said during a recent Fox News interview. “This is something that I think will be the hottest ticket in social media.”

“It’s going to completely redefine the game, and everybody is going to be waiting and watching to see what exactly President Trump does, but it will be his own platform,” Miller added.

“High-powered meetings”

Unfortunately for Trump’s millions of fans — who will undoubtedly drop everything to sign up for such an undertaking — Miller wasn’t able to provide much in the way of details concerning how the new network would work or other relevant information.

He did say that the former president has already held “high-powered meetings” at Mar-a-Lago, presumably with investors and tech-savvy engineers who could be behind the new network. Miller added that “numerous companies” were interested in getting in on the ground floor of Trump’s reported internet business venture.

The news comes in the wake of Facebook, Twitter, and other social media giants coming under increased scrutiny for how they choose to censor government officials and other high-profile accounts, according to NBC News.

As Fox News reported, Miller said Trump’s network is “going to be big,” adding that he believes it will attract “tens of millions of people.”

Only time will tell how successful Trump’s social network will ultimately be, but given the controversy surrounding other social media companies right now coupled with Trump’s loyal fan base and virtually unlimited resources, there’s no reason to believe it’ll be anything less than a stellar success.
