A left-wing journalist with a history of making unfounded claims against President Donald Trump just had a very public meltdown over those who he calls “antimaskers.”
According to Breitbart, Kurt Eichenwald railed against those who are opposed to face mask requirements amid COVID-19 in a flurry of late-night tweets that even threatened violence.
“So much hate in my heart”
It appears Eichenwald’s rant came in response to his brother-in-law’s recent death from the coronavirus. “My sister, widowed by COVID, has Covid because of antimaskers,” he wrote Thursday. “I have so much hate in my heart tonight,” he added.
In addition to “antimaskers,” the journalist also set his sights on congressional Republicans who he said are “working to harm America.”
“I wish them [and] their loved ones all the pain [and] misery they inflicted on this country,” he wrote.

Journalist doubles down
In another tweet that Breitbart said had been “removed from Twitter for violating the platform’s rules,” Eichenwald took things a step further: “It’s at a moment like this I want to find an antimasker and beat them to death. Since they believe they have the right to kill others, they have surrended any right to object,” the journalist wrote Wednesday, a screenshot from Breitbart showed.
Eichenwald was later forced to clarify, “[N]o, I’m not planning to kill anyone.” Still, he conceded that “it is hard not to contemplate violence against those who don’t care if they kill,” Breitbart noted.
The bottom line
As Breitbart reported, Eichenwald continued his tirade in a series of expletive-ridden replies to other Twitter users’ objections. Just after midnight on Friday morning, he called one individual a “F*****G MORON” for asking how those who wear masks contrive COVID-19.
The disease has infected more than 20 million people in the U.S. and killed over 347,000, according to The New York Times.
As serious as the pandemic may be, it’s hard to blame everyday Americans for doubting the “science” behind government mandates, however — especially in the wake of an admission from top federal coronavirus adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci that he had been “slowly but deliberately been moving the goal posts” on questions of herd immunity, in the words of The New York Times.
After months of saying that roughly 60% to 70% of the population would need be vaccinated or immune to the coronavirus disease via infection before the U.S. would reach “herd immunity” and put the brakes on the pandemic, Fauci now maintains “that it may take close to 90[%] immunity to bring the virus to a halt,” the Times reports. And earlier this year, he flipped his stance on the masks that Eichenwald holds so dear. Is it really any wonder that people are questioning whether these “experts” and elites deserve their blind trust after months of being let down?
