Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s foremost infectious disease expert, has been lauded as the leading and incontrovertible expert on coronavirus since the outset of the pandemic. However, recent admissions from Fauci make it more and more clear that he’s just as in the dark about how to approach the virus as anyone else — though he won’t admit that to the public.
Fauci confessed on Sunday that he’s surprised at the death toll at this point in the pandemic, saying he “did not expect” the number of deaths from the virus to reach 350,000.
Wrong again
“There is no running away from the numbers,” Fauci said in a Sunday appearance on ABC’s “This Week.”
Always one to seize the opportunity to reinforce his belief in lockdowns, Fauci added: “It’s something that we absolutely have got to grasp and get our arms around and turn that, turn that inflection down by very intensive adherence to the public health measures uniformly throughout the country with no exceptions.”
Fauci admitted that he didn’t “expect” the death toll to continue rising past the 350,000 mark, and said that it’s “what happens when you’re in a situation where you have surges related to so many factors inconsistent adhering to the public health measures, the winter months coming in right now with the cold allowing people or essentially forcing people to do most of their things indoors as opposed to outdoors.”
Most of the nation didn’t expect such a high death toll either, after a summer that saw cratering rates of coronavirus across the states.
Despite his surprise at the obvious failure of the initial coronavirus precautions — extended lockdowns — to reduce the death toll, Fauci remains firm in his advocacy for the most draconian measures possible.
Fauci reiterated on Thursday that the only way to return to normal is with “rather strict adherence” to coronavirus restrictions throughout 2021, as well as the vaccine rollout.
Lockdown failure
California and New York — two Democrat-run states that claim to be “following the experts” in terms of their coronavirus approach — have seen the highest rates of COVID-19 infections and deaths in the nation.
California is especially hard-hit, avoiding the first wave of coronavirus in March and April, but becoming overwhelmed with cases starting at the end of the summer — despite enacting the first and harshest stay-at-home order in the states.
The Golden State is one of the most reliably blue states in the nation, with high rates of mask-wearing compliance, and has been under lockdown since March — yet coronavirus is still ravaging the state’s large cities.
“Experts” like Fauci are looked to for guidance in the face of rising death tolls, and their only solution is to lie to the public in order to manipulate Americans into complying with lockdown orders.
