According to Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, there is a concerning trend that is taking place in the U.S. military.
On Monday night’s airing of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Carlson raised awareness about how the U.S. military appears to be going woke, and he warned viewers that the consequences for our country could be disastrous.
“Moral imperatives”
Carlson called attention to several policy changes that the U.S. military has recently made. The changes were driven by the death of Georgie Floyd and the subsequent “protests” for racial justice.
One such change was just recently announced by Acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller.
Following the death of Floyd, the Pentagon’s Diversity and Inclusion Board submitted a list of 15 recommendations for the Department of Defense (DOD) to become more diverse and inclusive. Included are such things as removing aptitude tests that “adversely impact diversity,” developing “diverse pools of qualified candidates for nominative positions,” and incorporating “the value of cultivating diversity and inclusion into leadership and professionalism in curricula.” Miller has now signed off on all 15 of them calling them “moral imperatives,” and Carlson blasted him for doing so.
“According to Miller, who should be ashamed of himself, these extremist left-wing social engineering projects are ‘moral imperatives’ in the armed forces, though he did not explain why,” Carlson said.
“Operation Inclusion”
Carlson also called attention to the fact that the U.S. Army’s Equity and Inclusion Agency is now forcing a two-seminar course called “Operation Inclusion” on uniformed and civilian personnel at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.
The course, among other things, teaches military members that “all lives matter,” the celebration of Columbus Day, “make America great,” and the enforcement of immigration laws are signs of white supremacy.
Although “Operation Inclusion” is currently only being taught at Redstone, the goal is to have all “all Army four-star commands” take the course.
Carlson’s take
Carlson began the segment by arguing that America’s meritocratic system, one of the things that have led to our country’s success, is being – and in many cases already has been – replaced by a “woke brain virus,” and that this woke brain virus is now beginning “to infect” America’s military, one of country’s “last remaining meritocrac[ies].”
“The military, we have all been told since childhood, doesn’t care what you look like, what your parents did, or where you’re from. They care about your performance,” Carlson said. “That’s why the U.S. military is impressive and why they’ve been able to keep us from being invaded because they only care about what matters, and what matters is protecting the United States.”
Carlson noted that this is no longer the case, and he finished the segment by asking whether a woke military can “protect a nation.” The unfortunate reality is that we might soon find out.
