A German economist is predicting a bleak future, and the scary part is that he might be right.
Antony Mueller, the Professor of Economics at the Federal University of Sergipe in Brazil, believes that the economic changes that are currently taking place are going to have dire consequences in the near future, Breitbart reports.
What’s going on?
Mueller gave his prediction in a recent interview that he did with Breitbart’s James Delingpole. There, Mueller spoke about how the globalist elite are using the coronavirus to make changes to life as we know it.
“Most people have not noticed yet because at the moment governments can afford to give them subsidies and welfare payments,” Mueller said. “But the question is: ‘For how long?”
According to Mueller, people are going to be hit with a harsh reality once the money runs out.
“We are seeing the destruction of the economy in all Western countries — from the U.S. and Canada to New Zealand and Western Europe,” Mueller said.
A historical precedent
Mueller compared what is happening now to Germany’s Weimar Republic, the period of economic troubles that led to the rise of Adolph Hitler. According to Mueller, what is coming is going to be “much, much worse than Weimar.”
“In Weimar, you still had large parts of the population who were religious — which gave them a sense of community and mutual help. They also had strong families,” Mueller explained. “Now from Spain to Ireland, you have single households, which is going to make it much harder for people to survive.”
According to Weimar, the shutting down of small businesses is also going to make matters worse.
“We know, for example, that Argentina has had economic crashes. But they were always survivable because there were always small businesses — you could get your car repaired, go to the butcher for meat, the bars and cafes stayed open,” Mueller said. “In this new crash the bars and cafes will be all closed.”
Is there any hope?
If we continue down the path we have been on, with the lockdowns, then Mueller stands by his prediction of a massive economic downturn for the western world. According to Mueller, though, there is some hope.
Key, says Mueller, is for America to end the lockdowns. This Mueller believes would set an example that would be followed by the rest of the world, and, as as a result, would make possible economic recovery. This is certainly a situation that we all ought to be aware of.
