President Donald Trump may have given the General Services Administration (GSA) the green light to allow Joe Biden access to resources meant for the president-elect, but that doesn’t mean Trump is done fighting to ensure the election was legitimate — and it seems he just got a huge win in that regard.
According to a new report from the Washington Examiner‘s Paul Bedard, a judge in Nevada has agreed to let the Trump campaign provide proof of its claims that voter fraud in the Silver State tainted the results of the presidential election there, meaning there’s a chance that Biden’s apparent victory could be overturned.
Bedard reported Wednesday that the Trump campaign will be permitted to bring forward 15 sworn depositions regarding election misconduct in Nevada’s Clark County, a Democratic stronghold. A hearing on the matter is reportedly set for Dec. 3.
“A critical step for transparency”
It’s a development that has White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows celebrating, according to Bedard.
“BIG news in Nevada: a Judge has allowed [Nevada] Republicans to present findings of widespread voter fraud in a Dec. 3rd hearing,” Meadows wrote in a tweet Tuesday evening.
He went on: “Americans will now hear evidence from those who saw firsthand what happened — a critical step for transparency and remedying illegal ballots. Stay tuned.”
“A real chance”
American Conservative Union chairman Matt Schlapp weighed in as well, telling Bedard that the hearing “gives us a real chance, if to do nothing else, to begin to show this historic level of fraud.”
During a Tuesday appearance on Fox News, Schlapp, who Bedard said is “one of those heading the Nevada case,” offered more details about the campaign’s allegations in the state, including accusations of improprieties with mail-in votes.
“The biggest thing which is true in all of these states we’re talking about, including in Georgia, where a third of the ballots were cast in the mail, Nevada, half the ballots were cast in the mail, with no legal signature verification, certainly not in Clark County — that is the big treasure trove of illegal balloting in all of these states,” Schlapp explained, as Bedard reported.
“A 100% rigged election”
But as The Nevada Independent noted, the Trump campaign’s fraud allegations go beyond issues of improper signature verification with mail-in ballots. Other claims include that thousands of dead people voted in the state and that ballots were cast by individuals who were not legitimate Nevada residents.
As of Thursday, just over 33,000 votes separated President Trump from former Vice President Joe Biden in Nevada, according to Fox News. It remains to be seen whether the president’s lawsuits will put enough of a dent in that number to change the results there — but in the meantime, Trump has made clear that he isn’t backing down.
