Joe Biden introduces himself as ‘Kamala’s running mate’ in viral clip: ‘Y’all think I’m kidding, don’t you?’

Many on the right have speculated that Joe Biden is merely a placeholder candidate who Democrats would seek to swiftly replace if he wins on Tuesday — and now, it seems the even the former vice president himself isn’t sure who’s leading the ticket.

Speaking at a campaign event in Atlanta this week, Biden was proud to proclaim — apparently jokingly — that he’s Kamala Harris’ running mate, Just The News reported.

“Folks, my name is Joe Biden, and I’m Jill Biden’s husband and I’m Kamala’s running mate,” Biden confessed in a video clip shared on Facebook by Breitbart. As the crowd broke into laughter, Biden pressed, “Y’all think I’m kidding, don’t you?” Take a look:

Biden confirms it

According to The Epoch Times, the moment “was quickly seized upon by Trump’s campaign and White House officials.”

Among them, as Just The News reported, was White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany, who addressed the Democrat’s comments in a tweet on Tuesday. “Joe Biden confirms what we all knew,” she wrote, noting that a sign reading “Kamala” was displayed “prominently” behind the former vice president.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Biden has put Harris at the top of the ticket.

“A Harris–Biden administration is going to relaunch that effort and keep pushing it further to make it easier for military spouses and veterans to find meaningful careers, to ensure teachers know how to support military children in their classrooms,” Biden said at a campaign stop in Florida last month, according to Just The News.

Harris, for her part, has also made the same blunder. Talking to a group of Arizona business owners about a future, the California senator referenced a “Harris administration, together with Joe Biden as the president of the United States,” Just The News noted.

A history of gaffes

It all doesn’t bode well for the pair of Democrats as they try to unseat the incumbent president in Tuesday’s election. Biden has faced an uphill battle throughout the campaign season trying to convince voters that he’s up for the job — but he seems to keep shooting his own foot in the process.

For example, Biden waxed fondly to reporters at a campaign stop last year about how much he enjoyed being back in Vermont. In fact, the Democratic hopeful was standing in Keene, New Hampshire, as The Hill noted.

What’s more, Biden has twice told supporters that he is running for a seat in the United States Senate. The first such incident occurred in February, while the second came earlier this month, according to Fox News. The Democrat White House hopeful also made headlines in the days following his victory in the Super Tuesday primaries for appearing to confuse his wife with his sister.
