Trump brokers historic peace deal with Bahrain, Israel

President Trump announced on Friday morning that the US has successfully brokered yet another historic peace deal in the middle east — this time between Israel and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Democrats have sounded the alarm for years that Donald Trump will plunge the US into further endless wars, but he’s done the opposite — achieving multiple and unprecedented historic peace agreements in the middle east within the last several months.

Progress in the face of extreme opposition

“Another HISTORIC breakthrough today!” Trump announced. “Our two GREAT friends Israel and the Kingdom of Bahrain agree to a Peace Deal – the second Arab country to make peace with Israel in 30 days!”

Trump followed the announcement with the text of an official joint statement of the US, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the State of Israel declaring:

Donald J. Trump, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa bin Salman al-Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel spoke today and agreed to the establishment of full diplomatic relations between Israel and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The statement went on to call the deal a “historic breakthrough to further peace in the Middle East, continue the positive transformation of the Middle East and increase stability, security, and prosperity in the region.”

Notable objectives of the agreement include “efforts in this regard to achieve a just, comprehensive, and enduring resolution to the Israeli- Palestinian conflict to enable the Palestinian people to realize their full potential.”

Additionally, Israel affirmed that “all Muslims who come in peace may visit and pray at the Al Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem’s other holy sites will remain open for peaceful worshipers of all faiths.”

Cumulative effect

President Trump announced last month that the United Arab Emirates had to a similar peace deal with Israel. Additionally, Trump successfully mediated a deal between Kosovo and Serbia to normalize economic relations between the two Balkan nations last week.

Leaders from the Kingdom of Bahrain will join representatives from the United Arab Emirates and Israel at a “historic” signing ceremony at the White House on September 15, 2020.

Trump revealed on Friday that he expects more middle eastern nations to normalize relations with Israel in the coming months as well, a policy objective that no governing body has been able to successfully mediate despite decades of effort.

“The good news is we have many other countries now in the Middle East that want this, and that means peace,” Trump said, adding that Iranian and Palestinian leaders may even agree to come to the table in the near future.

U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman praised Trump’s efforts to achieve peace in the war-torn region, saying, “people have thought about the Middle East for the past 100 years or more as a place of violence, of hopelessness, of suffering, of war. What we are seeing in real time in this room today and last month: we’re seeing the paradigm of the Middle East completely change.”
