Sarah Sanders rips ‘The View’: ‘They are the definition of hypocrisy’

President Donald Trump’s former press secretary torched the daytime talk show The View on Tuesday, calling it a show that thrives on misery.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders told Fox News host Sean Hannity that her appearance on the liberal ABC program earlier Tuesday left her with the impression that its hosts “hate” Trump “more than they love” America.

“They can’t be happy”

Like her former boss, Sarah Sanders has been a recurring target of The View’s bitter rhetoric over the years, so it came as little surprise when the Trump ally received a cold reception during a recent episode.

As Sanders skewered Democratic leaders over riots in cities, the hosts broke into incredulous laughter. “The worst places we have these problems is where Democrats have been allowed to lead, we’re finally starting to clean this up,” Sanders said.

“It’s only an hour show!” Joy Behar quipped as Sanders started talking about what Trump has done to help African Americans.

Joining Sean Hannity, who applauded her “courage,” Sanders said later that evening that The View‘s hosts tuned her out because they are blinded by a resentment of Trump that is more powerful than their patriotism.

“They didn’t like it very much,” Sanders told the Fox host. “Let’s not forget, one of the hosts of that show actually called the president a terrorist… They’ve decided that they hate this president more than they love this country. They can’t be happy about the positive things that he’s done to help all Americans.”

“The definition of hypocrisy”

Sanders also called the show “the definition of hypocrisy,” recalling that Behar once called Donald Trump a “terrorist,” as Fox News reported.

“Despite the fact that the president spent the last four years wiping the most dangerous terrorist off of the face of the planet,” Sanders said. “They are the definition of hypocrisy.”

There was more vitriol from Behar on Wednesday as the host challenged Ivanka Trump to take a coronavirus vaccine, implying it would be dangerous to do so. “I will take the vaccine after Ivanka takes it,” Behar said, according to RealClearPolitics.

During her appearance on the program, Sanders also argued with The View‘s co-hosts about an Atlantic article claiming that Trump disparaged the troops.

“I literally traveled all over the world with him. I sat in the Oval Office when the president called to offer condolences to parents whose sons had been killed in the line of duty. That takes a toll on a person,” Sanders said, according to The Wrap. “The president did that, and I watched that, and I saw his heart in those moments.”
