You didn’t really think Democrats were going to hold Nancy Pelosi accountable, did you?
The Democrat mayor of San Francisco, London Breed, is siding with the House Speaker and blaming — wait for it — “terrorist” Donald Trump after Pelosi was caught breaking coronavirus restrictions.
SF mayor turns on Trump instead
Last week, Pelosi cried “set up” after a salon owner in San Francisco released surveillance footage of the Speaker getting a wash and blow out indoors, with no mask. Salons were not officially allowed to open until the following day, and only for outdoor service.
Mayor Breed said that she’s “not trying to excuse what happened” but insisted that it’s “time to move on” from the scandal, which many said exposed Pelosi as a privileged hypocrite.
Breed reached Pelosi-an levels of hyperbole as she sought to make the scandal about President Trump instead, calling him a “dictator” and a “terrorist.” Pelosi called Republicans “enemies of the state” in August.
“We have a terrorist, we have a dictator who is running this country and Nancy Pelosi is at the forefront fighting against this person everyday, you know, and I’m not trying to excuse what happened,” Breed said.
“I’m just saying that to allow an issue like this to turn our city upside down when we got folks who are homeless, we’ve got people who can’t open their business, including these salons. I understand,” she said.
Pelosi scandal sparks emotional reaction
The owner of the salon in question, Erica Kious, has said that she hoped to encourage an end to the economically punishing lockdowns that have destroyed small businesses like hers, and which Pelosi has helped advocate.
“If a woman in a high-risk age group who spends much of her time on TV warning about the dangers of COVID-19 feels safe and comfortable in a San Francisco salon and can be responsible for being cautious and mindful, why can’t the rest of San Francisco, and the rest of America, do that, too?” she asked at a press conference Thursday.
Other salon owners in the city have called Pelosi’s behavior hypocritical and insulting, and protesters even gathered outside Pelosi’s home to express their anger. But the mayor isn’t concerned.
“I get it, but at the end of the day, it is really time for us to move on,” she said.
What are the peasants angry about this time? Shoo shoo.
