A Twitter user claims to have busted Joe Biden using a teleprompter during a live TV interview.
According to Breitbart, a reflection in a photo frame seen in a resurfaced clip appears to show that Biden was reading off of a teleprompter during an April interview between the former vice president and The Late Late Show host James Corden.
That’s embarrassing
The clip, which has gone viral, shows Biden holding up a photo of himself alongside his two sons. The Democratic White House hopeful told Corden that he hangs the photograph in his bedroom, in an apparent attempt to highlight the importance of family in his life.
Unwittingly, however, Biden also highlighted something else: teleprompter text, or what appears to be.
As Biden held up the picture frame for the camera, the glass reflected what appeared to be text that was being fed to him on a teleprompter. It remains unclear what the text says, however.
Going off script
Savvy camera work on the part of the crew at CBS’s The Late Late Show tried to hide Biden’s blunder, and he almost got away with it. As of Sunday morning, however, a clip of the incident that Breitbart said had been “slowed down” had amassed more than 750,000 views on Twitter.
Check out the teleprompter in the reflection. Biden blatantly read from a script for most of the interview with James Corden.
I bet his handlers weren’t too happy with him going off script. He probably got reprimanded. pic.twitter.com/BPK2FGB8cz

The bottom line
It’s true that politicians, including President Donald Trump, use teleprompters all the time. But the issue isn’t so much with the fact that Biden is reading from a script as with the fact that his campaign seems to be trying to hide it.
As Breitbart noted, Fox News host Bret Baier pressed Biden campaign national press secretary TJ Ducklo last week on whether Biden uses teleprompters or other aids during TV interviews. Ducklo, for his part, refused to say.
“We are not going to — this is straight from the Trump campaign talking points,” Ducklo said, according to Fox. “And what it does, Bret, is it’s trying to distract the American people.”
But don’t the American people deserve to know who’s really doing the talking?
