‘Good morning’: Pelosi appears to restart live interview after six minutes of questioning

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is not his party’s only leader known for making odd and sometimes incoherent statements.

U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), for example, exhibited some on-air behavior during an interview this week that raised more than a few eyebrows, as reported by Breitbart.

“Not ruling anything out”

Her remarks came during a segment of ABC News’ This Week on Sunday in response to a question from host George Stephanopoulos regarding whether she would consider using impeachment as a strategy to forestall the confirmation of President Donald Trump’s pick to replace the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

“To be clear, you’re not taking any arrows out of your quiver,” Stephanopoulos said. “You’re not ruling anything out.”

Despite the fact that his question came about six minutes into the interview, Pelosi appeared to restart the conversation instead of providing an immediate answer.

“Good morning,” she said with a smile. “Sunday morning.” An awkward pause followed before the speaker picked up on her previous point.

“We, uh—we have a responsibility,” she said. “We take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. We have a responsibility to meet the needs of the American People.”

“Never seen her behave like this”

Multiple social media users took note of her unusual performance, including author and cartoonist Scott Adams, who tweeted a video of the exchange and a challenge for his followers.

“Watch this once while looking at Pelosi the entire time,” he wrote. “Then watch a second time and look at Stephanopolous’s face when she answers.”

San Francisco Republican John Dennis, a longtime Pelosi rival, remarked that he had “never seen her behave like this” and would “love to speculate, but won’t indulge.”

Of course, the question that preceded Pelosi’s attempted interview reboot is a far more pressing issue, especially with Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY) asserting that “nothing is off the table” if the GOP pushes through a Ginsburg replacement before the next presidential inauguration.

The promise of conservative judicial appointments has long been a rallying point for Trump voters, and Democrats appear poised to stand in the way of another GOP win using any partisan tricks at their disposal.
