‘Forget him’: Pelosi says voters should pay no mind to Trump’s warnings about election fraud

Americans should pay no mind to President Donald Trump’s warnings about voter fraud, according to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

As Trump accuses her party of conspiring to steal the election, Pelosi insisted Monday that there is no reason to second guess voting by mail this November, the Washington Examiner reported.

“Don’t pay any attention to him”

In Nevada last weekend, Trump reiterated his oft-repeated claim that Democrats want to maximize the number of people voting by mail this year because they think it will help them “rig” the election.

“They’ll figure [out] a way. No, they are. It’s a very dangerous thing,” he said, according to a transcript from Rev.

Democrats have smugly dismissed Trump’s concerns about voter fraud — never mind that this whole mail-in scheme is unprecedented — while insisting that it is Trump who is trying to tamper with the election, apparently just by pointing out that Democrats want to experiment with voting.

In an interview with MSNBC on Monday, Pelosi said that Trump is waging a psychological attack on the confidence of voters by raising unfounded concerns about the election’s integrity.

“I have a motto. We don’t agonize, we organize,” she told MSNBC’s Craig Melvin, according to the Washington Examiner. “I tell people, don’t pay any attention to him because he either doesn’t know what he’s talking about or doesn’t care that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. The fact that he would persuade people that their vote doesn’t count tells you everything you need to know and then more about this president, but forget him.”

Russia, Russia, Russia

Even as she accused Trump of trying to scare voters, Pelosi went on to repeat her party’s theory that Trump is trying to dismantle the U.S. Postal Service to stop people from voting amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Failing that, Trump may be working to steal the election with help from Vladimir Putin, she warned.

“Let’s go forward and have a free and fair election and, whoever wins, we will honor that decision by the American people. But don’t try to manipulate and dismantle the postal system so that people’s votes are in doubt, as to whether they received their ballot or whether it will be received back by the authorities to count their vote,” Pelosi told Melvin, adding that Russia is trying to mess with the election “24/7.”

“The president welcomes it,” Pelosi said of Russian interference. “It’s wrong. But, again, forget him.”

Apparently, it’s against the rules to have common sense concerns about dramatic changes to voting in the weeks before a major election. Sorry, Pelosi, but ignoring the problem altogether? That’s going to be a hard “no.”
