President Trump vowed on Friday that he will order law enforcement officers and U.S. attorneys to monitor the polls in November to prevent voter fraud as the battle heads up over in-person vs. mail-in voting.
Appearing in a Thursday interview with Fox host Sean Hannity, Trump confirmed that the federal government will step in to monitor the security of the election to an extent not seen before.

Hannity asked Trump if he will “have an ability” to monitor and avoid fraud at the polls in November, to which Trump replied, “we’re going to have everything.”
“We’re going to have sheriffs, and we’re going to have law enforcement. And we’re going to have hopefully U.S. attorneys, and we’re going to have everybody and attorney generals,” Trump explained. Trump did not give further details about the precise role each of the named officials might fill at the polls.
Though the 2016 election was thought to be one of the most contentious elections in American history, the 2020 election is showing signs of being even worse.
As Democrats agitate to transition the nation to mail-in voting across the board, Donald Trump is pushing back hard against the notion. President Trump told supporters this week “the only way we’re going to lose this election is if the election is rigged.”
Mail-in vs. at the polls
Top infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci revealed last week that he believes there is “no reason” that Americans can’t vote in person in the upcoming election, a shocking departure from his typically over-cautious approach.
Fauci pointed out, however, that if Americans can safely stand in line at the grocery store, they can do it at the polls.
Fauci told ABC News “I think if carefully done, according to the guidelines, there’s no reason that I can see why that not be the case. If you go and wear a mask, if you observe the physical distancing, and don’t have a crowded situation, there’s no reason why shouldn’t be able to do that.”
Fauci, who has said that he believes he is in a high-risk category, affirmed that he plans to vote in person in November.
D.C. Democrats, who typically claim to trust Fauci and other experts’ opinions, have ignored Fauci’s announcement that voting in person is safe, pushing for the expansion of mail-in voting as a life or death issue.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has characterized mail-in voting as “essential from a health reason because we want to keep people at home to vote without having them all collect on Election Day. People should not have to choose between their health and their vote.”
