Democrats would prefer to ignore the new report released by William Evanina, Director of National Counterintelligence and Security Center (NCSC), which found that China is working to get Joe Biden elected.
However, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) just acknowledged and confirmed the report during a Sunday appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” which puts Democrats in a tough place in the upcoming election.
China vs. Russia
The counterintelligence report also found that Russia would prefer for Trump to win the November election, and Democrats are attempting to highlight this report while dismissing the elephant in the room.
Pelosi told CNN’s Dana Bash that Chinese election interference on behalf of Biden is “not equivalent” to that of Russia attempting to defeat Biden.
“They’re not equivalent,” Pelosi insisted. “Russia is actively, 24/7 interfering in our election. They did so in 2016, and they are doing so now.”
“The Chinese… what they said is [that] China would prefer [Biden]. Whether they do, that’s their conclusion. That they would prefer Joe Biden,” Pelosi admitted, but went on to say that the Chinese government is “not really getting involved in the presidential election.”
The counterintelligence report found that Russia is indeed “using a range of measures to primarily denigrate former Vice President Biden and what it sees as an anti-Russia ‘establishment,’” and that “This is consistent with Moscow’s public criticism of him when he was Vice President for his role in the Obama Administration’s policies on Ukraine and its support for the anti-Putin opposition inside Russia.”
The report clearly states that Russia is working against Biden, and has since the Obama administration, but Democrats skimmed over that qualifier to imply that Trump is “colluding” with Russia to defeat Biden.
China apologists
Though Pelosi acknowledged that the Chinese government is attempting to defeat Trump, she refused to condemn the Chinese Communist Party’s actions promoting Biden.
Evanina’s report disclosed that “China has been expanding its influence efforts ahead of November 2020 to shape the policy environment in the United States, pressure political figures it views as opposed to China’s interests, and deflect and counter-criticism of China.”
The Democrat party’s willingness to be active tools of the CCP is very apparent when one looks at Democrat leadership’s attacks on Trump’s anti-China rhetoric and actions.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) attacked Pelosi even before the counterintelligence report was released for running cover for the CCP over accusations of mishandling the COVID-19 outbreak. After Pelosi called COVID-19 the “Trump Virus” in July, McCarthy fired back:
China is no friend to the United States, and that fact is clear to everyone except the Democrats. … Why does the speaker promote their propaganda by trying to blame the president of the United States for the Chinese Communist Party’s lies, even calling the virus the name of our president? … My final question would be: What does the Chinese Communist Party have on the Democrats? Why can’t they hold them accountable?”
