House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) scolded Trump on national television about setting an “example” for the American public by wearing a mask because “it’s not about protecting yourself it’s about protecting others and their families.”
Pelosi herself has been caught numerous times wearing her mask incorrectly, also setting a bad example for the American public.
Practice what you preach
Though Pelosi is now well-known for making a fashion statement with her mask in all of her public appearances, she’s been busted wearing the mask wrong on several occasions.
The concept of covering one’s face to slow or prevent the spread of coronavirus is predicated on actually wearing the mask over one’s nose and mouth simultaneously. Acording to CDC guidelines, “emerging evidence from clinical and laboratory studies that shows cloth face coverings reduce the spray of droplets when worn over the nose and mouth.”
Pelosi seems to believe that simply having a piece of cloth near her face while making public appearances will achieve the goal.
The Washington Times reported:
In a photo atop her House page, Ms. Pelosi is shown in her office speaking with Philonise Floyd, one of George Floyd’s brothers, wearing a face mask that only covers her bottom lip.
Another photo shows her talking to Mr. Floyd wearing her mask on her chin, leaving her entire mouth exposed.
At the June 10 meeting, she presented a U.S. flag that flew over the U.S. Capitol to Mr. Floyd, who wore a mask covering his nose and mouth, as did two other men pictured.
Pelosi’s counterpart in the Senate, Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), also has virtue signaled about wearing a mask for months now, but Schumer also appears to be unable to comprehend how masks work.
He proudly announced in April that he would be wearing a mask in public at the recommendation of “the experts.”
“I didn’t enjoy it, but you have to do it,” Schumer said at the time. “One of the big problems here we’ve had from the beginning, we have to listen to the experts, the medical experts.”
He was photographed the same weekend wearing a mask under his nose, which is not recommended by the experts.

CDC recommendations
The Center for Disease Control released guidelines in early April recommending the wearing of cloth face coverings when social distancing is difficult to maintain.
At the time, the Trump administration stressed that mask-wearing was “voluntary,” but Democrat politicians such as Pelosi have begun pushing for a nationwide mandate in recent days, despite a lack of conclusive evidence that wearing cloth face coverings is effective in halting the transmission of coronavirus.
