Poll: Swing state voters unsure if Biden is ‘mentally and physically’ able to be president

Former Vice President Joe Biden and his 2020 campaign team are not going to want to hear this one.

According to Breitbart, a new poll has just been released showing that a sizable percentage of voters in key states are not sure whether presumptive Democratic nominee Biden is “mentally and physically” able to be president, surely sending shockwaves through the ranks of his staffers.

Voters unsure about Biden

The survey was conducted from June 8 through 20 in the battleground states of Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.

600 voters from each of these three states were asked the following question: “Do you believe Joe Biden is fully up to the task mentally and physically to handle the duties of president of the United States?”

The results most favorable to Biden came from Michigan, according to Breitbart. There, 50% of participants said that Biden has the capacity to manage presidential duties, 40.2% said that he would not, and 9.5 percent were uncertain.

The next most favorable results for Biden were obtained in Wisconsin. Once again, 50% of respondents expressed their belief that Biden would be able to handle the presidency, 42.2 percent said that he would not, and 7.8 percent were unsure.

Finally, only 48.7% of survey participants in Pennsylvania said that Biden could mentally and physically handle presidential duties, 45% said that he could not, and 6.3% were undecided.

Increasingly evident decline

The margin of error here in these polls is plus or minus 3%, but the bottom line is that a large portion of voters either has concrete doubts or is uncertain about whether the Democrats’ presumptive nominee is mentally and physically up to the task of serving as commander in chief.

This really shouldn’t really come as that much of a surprise, however, especially to those who have been paying even a little bit of attention.

Ever since Biden entered the race back in March of 2019, he has made all kinds of errors and gaffes that have caused many observers to be genuinely concerned about his health and cognitive status. To give a recent example, Biden on Thursday bizarrely claimed that 120 million people have died from the coronavirus (whereas, according to CNBC, the actual number is somewhere around 500,000).

Many believe that it is for this reason that we haven’t seen as much of Biden in recent weeks and months and that his campaign team has deliberately decided to limit personal appearances to prevent the inevitable miscues.

It is an understatement to say that this is a problem for the Biden campaign. After all, how can anyone cast a presidential ballot for someone they view as physically and mentally incapable of doing the job?
