After a series of primary election victories, former Vice President Joe Biden is widely considered to be the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.
However, some say that Biden has been exhibiting signs of mental decline for some time, and former Fox host Bill O’Reilly asserted on Wednesday that Biden’s family and friends are “concerned” about the progression, the Washington Examiner reported.
Insiders confirm it
Bill O’Reilly called into current Fox star Sean Hannity’s radio show to discuss what that might mean for the race.
“There is great concern among Mr. Biden’s family and friends about his mental health. Great concern. And his wife is the key, all right? Dr. Jill Biden. She has a Ph.D. in education. They’re worried about him,” O’Reilly told Hannity, according to the Examiner.
The long-time pundit went on: “And the thinking now is that, if Biden can’t make it, they’ll get him to a couple of weeks before the convention, and then he’ll step aside for health reasons and give his delegates to Cuomo.”
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) has been praised by many on the left for his handling of the COVID-19 crisis, with some using the hashtag #PresidentCuomo to promote the notion on Twitter.
“I know this to be true. And I think that may very well happen. I don’t see Joe Biden making a comeback from his mental acuity problems. I don’t see that,” O’Reilly said, although he acknowledged that he “could be wrong.”
Democrat party wants him gone
For his part, Hannity expressed agreement with O’Reilly’s assessment, stating” “I’ve heard from many in the Democratic Party, too, that they’d like to do that, and there’s angst, anxiety, concern. It’s DEFCON 5,” he said.
O’Reilly and Hannity weren’t alone in having suspicions about Biden, as Fox star Tucker Carlson has also said he’s been told by Democrats that they doubt Biden is capable of lasting through November, the Examiner notes.
“I sincerely and totally believe that Joe Biden will not be the Democratic nominee on Election Day,” Carlson declared on a recent episode of the Charlie LeDuff podcast.
“Two competing imperatives: We’ve got to win, but we’ve got a guy who can’t win. Therefore, they’re going to replace him,” Carlson insisted.
He went on: “He’s not going to make it, and the people around him know that. Trust me, I know them. And I know they know it, because they’ve said it to me.”
