Hillary Clinton to launch podcast in the midst of bitter primary fight

In 2016, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton lost in a stunning upset election. Since then, some have speculated that she is secretly planning to run again in the 2020 election cycle.

While there is currently no evidence to support those claims, Clinton has recently thrown her hat into a different type of ring.

On Thursday, Politico reported that Clinton will be launching a new podcast hosted by iHeartMedia. The as-yet-untitled production is set to debut this spring.

Clinton doesn’t hesitate to throw punches

Even without a podcast, Clinton has actively commented on politics since her 2016 defeat. That has included directing harsh words towards some of those currently seeking her party’s presidential nomination.

Regarding self-described socialist Bernie Sanders, Clinton said in January, “He was in Congress for years. He had one senator support him.”

“Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done,” she complained. “He was a career politician. It’s all just baloney and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it.”

After drawing criticism for her comments, Clinton tweeted, “I thought everyone wanted my authentic, unvarnished views!”

“But to be serious, the number one priority for our country and world is retiring Trump, and, as I always have, I will do whatever I can to support our nominee,” she promised.

Clinton makes more enemies

The former secretary of state has also taken aim at long-shot presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard. In 2019, she publicly accused the Hawaii congresswoman of being “groomed” by the Russian government, describer her as “their favorite” who is being propped up by “a bunch of sites and bots.”

Gabbard took offense to the suggestion and fired back by filing suit for defamation. The Iraq veteran is seeking $50 million in damages.

“Clinton has not gotten over her loss in that election and still dwells on what happened,” the lawsuit states, contending that she “blames many persons for her loss.”

Clinton has made waves with her recent political commentary, so expect her podcast to garner even more splashy headlines. According to the New York Post, “Clinton’s show is expected to host big-name guests, from world leaders to celebrities, under the theme of her latest book, “The Book of Gutsy Women,” and will be recorded in Manhattan.”
