Sean Hannity: Sources suggest plans exist for US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites

Tensions in the Persian Gulf regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran have been ratcheting up incrementally in recent days and weeks, with the latest provocative incident being the rogue regime’s seizure of a British-flagged oil tanker moving through the strategically important chokepoint that is the Strait of Hormuz.

Fox News host Sean Hannity discussed that incident and the possible response to it during his program Friday with President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Guiliani and insinuated that he was aware of potential plans to strike militarily against Iran’s unacceptable nuclear ambitions.

Military sources

“I want to say this delicately because I have sources that I know are sources you know well, and I know you have been told what I have been told,” Hannity said.

“We know exactly which nuclear sites are the most dangerous and we know the plans have been long drawn up to take them out,” he continued.

“And I have been told — and I think you have been told, Mr. Mayor, and feel free to go as far as you want to go with this — that it is beyond doable and it will happen if this continues,” Hannity added.

Potentially devastating impact

Giuliani revealed that he had just returned from a conference in Albania where the topic of military strikes against Iran was discussed with 50 other allied and friendly nations that the attorney later intimated could be the core of a coalition that could take action against Iran, if necessary.

“The point is, we could set them back five to ten years, I’d be happy with that,” Guiliani said. “If we could make it impossible for them to develop nuclear weapons in the next five to ten years, I’m convinced there’ll be regime change there — I mean, it could happen this year or next year.”

Guiliani said the anti-regime protests in Iran were “very significant” in spite of being “underestimated” by many and underreported by the media, as he had seen evidence of protesters risking their lives to advance the nationwide economic and political protests further than any prior protest movement in that nation.

“If we had to hit them back — and I agree, that should be the last resort — we could do serious damage to all of their nuclear facilities. We take some of them out, we set the others back five to ten years,” Guiliani said.

“We also should immediately take out their naval capacity so they stop screwing around with the Strait of Hormuz,” he added.

Emerging coalition

It was duly noted by both men that allies would be crucial for success in any sort of action against Iran, but both men seemingly dismissed the notion of the major European powers being much help, given that they prefer to do business with Iran instead of keeping that nation honest and in check.

Hannity said of President Trump with respect to Iran’s provocations, “He is serious — this is my take — he’s not gonna put boots on the ground, ever. There will not be a protracted war with Donald Trump as president.”

The host mentioned the “emerging coalition” of allied nations that Giuliani had alluded to earlier, and Giuliani replied that other nations had already expressed their willingness to “do the tough work” against Iran, so long as America supported them fully in the endeavor.

With respect to Iran and Trump, Giuliani said, “If they test him, they’re gonna be very, very — they’re gonna regret it. It could take them out in significant ways and also set their economy back ten years, and they can’t stand that right now.”

To be sure, nobody really wants a military conflict with Iran, but if the Iranians continue to brazenly threaten international shipping as well as American allies and interests in the region, they may indeed get that uneven and decisive fight that they’ve apparently been spoiling for recently.
