Investigative journalist accuses Bill Clinton of lying about ties to Jeffrey Epstein

Investigative journalist Conchita Sarnoff accused former President Bill Clinton of lying when he said Monday that he “knows nothing” about the “terrible crimes” linked to wealthy financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Sarnoff is the executive director of Alliance to Rescue Victims of Trafficking and the author of a book on the same subject. She appeared on Fox News @ Night to discuss sex trafficking and sex trafficking conspiracy charges issued against Epstein on Monday when the conversation turned to Clinton’s role in the scandal. Sarnoff revealed that “sadly,” Clinton “is not telling the truth.”

Pants on fire

Epstein, who is connected to powerful political and business leaders around the world, is accused of preying on “dozens” of female victims as young as 14. He pleaded not guilty in New York City Federal Court to the trafficking charges.

However, this isn’t the first time that Epstein, a convicted sex offender, has run afoul of the law. In 2008, he agreed to a relatively light, 18-month sentence for allegedly molesting as many as 30 underage girls in exchange for his cooperation in a financial crimes case.

Many of the documents in the 2008 case and a subsequent civil suit related to Epstein’s alleged misconduct have been sealed, and it is unclear if any wealthy celebrities and public figures — members of the billionaire’s inner circle — were involved in child prostitution and trafficking crimes.

In a press release following Epstein latest indictment, Clinton insisted that he only took “a total of four trips on Jeffrey Epstein’s airplane” in 2002 and 2003. However, Sarnoff first broke the story of Epstein’s friendship with the former president in 2010, and she claims she has evidence to dispute Clinton’s statements.

“I know from the pilot logs and these are pilot logs that you know were written by different pilots and at different times that Clinton went, he was a guest of Epstein’s 27 times,” she said, adding that “many of those times Clinton had his Secret Service with him and many times he did not.”

Sarnoff’s narrative directly conflicts with that of Clinton, who said his “[s]taff, supporters of the foundation, and his Secret Service detail traveled on every leg of every trip.”

Ditching security

But Sarnoff believes that there was a reason for Clinton to ditch his personal security. “Almost every time that Clinton’s name is on the pilot logs, there are underage girls, there are initials, and there are names of many, many girls on that private plane,” she said.

“I’m saying, sadly, that he is not telling the truth,” Sarnoff insisted. “First of all, Gerald Lefcourt, who was one of Epstein’s attorneys back during the original arrest and the original investigation, wrote a letter which has been made public.”

She explained to Fox: “In that letter, Gerald Lefcourt claims that Epstein was one of the original funders of Clinton Global Initiative. He gave President Clinton four million dollars, according to a source who knows a story about that.”

In his statement denying knowledge of any sex with minors, Clinton admitted that Epstein had connections with the Clinton Foundation, explaining that his flights to Africa with the hedge fund manager “included stops in connection with the work of the Clinton Foundation.”

Sarnoff claims that she reached out Clinton, but that he “would not agree” to discuss the matter.
