Yesterday President Trump offered an invitation to the dictator of totalitarian North Korea from his twitter account.
And North Korea responded.
North Korea with an extraordinarily fast response to Trump says: “We see it as a very interesting suggestion, but we have not received an official proposal in this regard.”
They seem to like it.
“…would serve as another meaningful occasion.” https://t.co/SaIqTwk1Cc

So we now know that the invitation was in the works because he had told The Hill about it earlier, but asked them to embargo the information. They’re a little upset that he just tweeted it out:
The Hill delayed publishing news of the trip earlier in the week at the request of the White House, which cited security concerns about publicizing the president’s plans that far in advance.
Also, the president is very happy with himself:
South Korea’s Moon was drinking coffee before a session at G20 when Trump approached him and asked, “Did you see my tweet?”
“Yes, I saw,” Moon said.
Trump gave him a thumbs-up, per @YonhapNews. https://t.co/UGSWotzExe
