Fox News host Sean Hannity tossed a bombshell accusation at his primetime rival Thursday evening, calling MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow “the single biggest conspiracy theorist in the country” and bashing NBC for choosing her as a debate moderator.
“The real embarrassment is that NBC allowed the biggest conspiracy theorist in the country to moderate the debate. The so-called news network put ‘Roswell’ Rachel Maddow right there, front and center,” said the Hannity host. “The single biggest conspiracy theorist in the country.”
Watch below:
Disgraced anchor
Maddow’s credibility is shot after the liberal news anchor focused her show almost exclusively on a now-debunked Trump-Russia collusion conspiracy. Even during the early stages of the government’s Russia probe, The Rachel Maddow Show covered the conspiracy 53 percent of the time.
Hannity didn’t spare NBC, either, going after the network for constantly slandering President Donald Trump and propagandizing on behalf of the Democratic Party. He asked what intrepid journalist and longtime NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw would think about the current state of the news industry.
“NBC is not interested in the truth, they’re not interested in integrity or actual journalism. Instead, NBC News — Tom Brokaw, are you watching?” Hannity asked. “Didn’t you build up this brand? A TV channel that works in unison with everything Democratic Party, everything socialist. Everything to smear, slander President Trump every hour of every day.”
Down with the Democrats
The Fox News editorialist also deplored the current state of the Democratic Party, which has experienced an extreme leftward dive since the election of President Trump. “Last night’s debate did confirm what we’ve also been telling you for some time. Moderates in the Democratic Party, they are extinct,” Hannity explained.
“They no longer exist,” he added. “There are no more Joe Liebermans, Scoop Jacksons. Radical socialists have completely and totally taken over.”
Indeed, despite being a debate, the presidential hopefuls sharing the stage Wednesday night also appeared to maintain a radical political consensus.
Splitting hairs
With very few exceptions, the presidential contenders each believe that the government should fund abortions, illegal immigrants should have access to free healthcare, and gun owners should be required to purchase a license. However, it was the mainstream left’s current love affair with socialism that concerned Hannity the most.
“Last night they were just obsessed with vilifying private enterprise,” he said. “In other words, that which has created the greatest standard of living in the industrialized world, that has advanced the human condition more than any governmental system. Capitalism works and we share it with others,” said Hannity.
“I wonder why New York, New Jersey, let’s say Illinois, California are losing population? Yeah, because of what they proposed last night. Where are we going to go next?” he asked.
After two consecutive nights of liberal debates, one thing is clear: this isn’t your father’s Democratic Party.
