Joe DiGenova: ‘Bombshell’ report on James Comey coming in two weeks

The Mueller report continues to be the center of attention. But that may be about to change with the upcoming release of a rival report that “everyone has forgotten about.”

According to former U.S. attorney for District of Columbia Joe DiGenova, the report involves former FBI director James Comey and will be a “bombshell.”

“There’s another report that everyone has forgotten about involving James Comey alone,” DiGenova said. “That will be out in two weeks,” he continued. “That report is going to be a bombshell. It is going to open up the investigation on a very high note, and there are going to be criminal referrals in it.”

DiGenova did not provide further details on the report, but made the announcement during a Fox News panel discussion about the possible FBI abuse of government surveillance.

FISA abuses report out soon

DiGenova also discussed the upcoming report from Inspector General of the Department of Justice (DOJ) Michael Horowitz, which DiGenova said is “coming out in May or possibly early June.”

Horowitz has been conducting an investigation into the FBI’s questionable use of the infamous and unverified Steele dossier to obtain a FISA warrant to spy on members of Donald Trump’s campaign team.

Details of a brazen plot

“It has been evident from day one that there was a brazen plot to exonerate Hillary Clinton illegally, and then if she lost the election, to frame Donald Trump,” DiGenova explained. “This dossier was a knowing part of that. It was created by Hillary Clinton. It was created knowingly by John Brennan as part of a scheme to do everything they could to harm Donald Trump.”

“The problem for Brennan and Clapper and Comey and Baker and all of them now is the FISA Court has already communicated with the Justice Department about its findings,” he said.

DiGenova went on to give us a little glimpse of what he believes the investigation found — the systematic and prolonged abuse of the FISA.

“And their findings are that for more than four years before the election of Donald Trump there was an illegal spying operation going on by FBI contractors, four of them, to steal information — electronic information — on Americans and to use it against the Republican Party,” he said. “There are going to be indictments. There are going to be grand juries. John Brennan is not going to need one lawyer. He’s going to need five.”

Comey put on notice

That DiGenova singled Comey out suggests that the former FBI director played a role in this abuse. This would add to the list of Comey’s wrongdoings, which led to his dismissal, by President Trump, in May 2017.

Some of these wrongdoings were revealed in another report by the DOJ’s inspector general last June. The focus there was on his role of getting Hillary Clinton off the hook for illegally using a private email server for confidential communications.

Despite finding that Comey was “insubordinate,” that he violated protocol, and that he “affirmatively concealed” his intentions, the investigation concluded that the FBI’s decision to not pursue Clinton was not the result of a Comey bias.

Will this new report finally deliver the truth? Time will tell.
