West Coast Democrats Pushing MAJOR Ammo Restrictions On Residents

Oregon State Rep. Andrea Salinas (D-Lake Oswego) and State Sen. Rob Wagner (D- Tualatin) are pushing legislation to limit ammunition magazines to no more than five rounds.

The Statesman Journal reports that the idea for limiting magazines to five rounds came from a group of gun control proponents called Students for Change. They decided such a limitation was a good response to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School attack in Parkland, Florida.

The legislation, Senate Bill 501, also limits the amount of ammunition an individual can buy and requires would-be gun purchasers to obtain a permit before getting a gun.

NRA-ILA reports that ammunition purchase limits would mean Oregon residents could buy “no more than 20 rounds every 30 days.”

Criminals who acquire their guns and ammo on the black market would not be impacted by the limitations.
