President Trump decried the ongoing expensive, fruitless investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller as a “witch hunt” built on a foundation of fraud.
“The Mueller probe should never have been started in that there was no collusion and there was no crime,” Trump tweeted. “It was based on fraudulent activities and a Fake Dossier paid for by Crooked Hillary and the DNC, and improperly used in FISA COURT for surveillance of my campaign. WITCH HUNT!”
President Trump fired off a series of tweets Saturday, expressing his annoyance that Mueller’s probe is still ongoing even though it has produced no evidence of collusion after 18 months.
Meanwhile, the probe has devolved into a taxpayer-funded money pit with no signs of letting up. Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz summed it up best when he threw down this gauntlet to Mueller: Put up or shut up.
“It’s time for Bob Mueller to put up or shut up. If there’s evidence of collusion, let’s see it!” Gaetz said. “If there’s not, let’s move on.”

As the House Intelligence Committee has concluded, there was no collusion between Russia and the Trump Campaign. As many are now finding out, however, there was tremendous leaking, lying and corruption at the highest levels of the FBI, Justice & State. #DrainTheSwamp

Why does the Mueller team have 13 hardened Democrats, some big Crooked Hillary supporters, and Zero Republicans? Another Dem recently added…does anyone think this is fair? And yet, there is NO COLLUSION!

While President Trump’s immature tweets don’t help the situation, his frustration at being investigated for collusion despite a lack of evidence is understandable. The investigation has become a major distraction to the White House, even as it makes progress in pushing the Trump agenda through despite opposition from all sides.
Andrew McCabe, the Obama holdover who was fired as deputy FBI director for lying to the FBI, has launched a full-on press attack against Trump, suggesting he was ousted to undermine the Mueller probe. But the joke’s on McCabe, because Mueller’s probe undermines itself.
Moreover, President Trump did not fire McCabe — even though he has the authority to do so. McCabe was fired on the recommendations of the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility and on the recommendation of Obama-appointed Inspector General Horowitz.
Meanwhile, the relentless media attacks against Trump by McCabe, James Comey, and former high-level Obama appointees in the CIA and FBI appear to confirm rumors that there is indeed a “Deep State” within the federal government that’s actively trying to undermine President Trump.
CNN analyst Philip Mudd, a former Mueller FBI appointee, recently threatened Trump during an unhinged rant on live TV.
“The FBI people are ticked!” Mudd bellowed. “If you think you can push us off this because you can intimidate the director, you’d better think again! You’ve been around for 13 months. We’ve been around since 1908. I know how this game is going to be played! We’re going to win.”
