The mayor of Los Angeles issued an ultimatum to city employees who have declined to roll up their sleeves for the COVID-19 shot: Get the injection now, or suffer.
Petty tyrant Eric Garcetti said bluntly on Wednesday that unvaccinated city workers should be “prepared to lose their job,” Fox News reported.
Those workers have until Dec. 18 to get vaccinated if they want to stay employed with the city. But the city isn’t waiting until then to make life difficult for them.
“Be prepared”
Los Angeles will subject unvaccinated workers to burdensome coronavirus testing twice a week, with the $65 expense deducted from their paycheck, and on their own free time, according to the local ABC 7. Just 72% of the city’s employees have at least one dose, Fox notes.
“Employees must be vaccinated by Dec. 18, and we are putting a rigorous testing program into place in the meantime. Let me be clear: Any employee who refuses to be vaccinated by this date should be prepared to lose their job,” Garcetti said Wednesday, according to Fox.
The authoritarian measures are not out of character for Garcetti, who infamously threatened to shut off power and water to homes that violated his capricious orders in the summer of 2020.
Still, lockdowns seem almost quaint in comparison to the medical apartheid now being pushed on the country by the likes of Garcetti.
“So politicized”
In parts of the country, especially deep-blue regions like Los Angeles, countless Americans are being relegated to a second class of citizens through a network of oppressive state, corporate, and federal vaccine mandates barring them from workplaces and many public spaces, such as restaurants.
L.A. has some of the strictest vaccine mandates in the country: unvaccinated residents cannot enter restaurants, gyms, bars, or entertainment venues.
Politicians like Garcetti and President Joe Biden have been unapologetically coercive and almost boastful about the persecutory regime they have encouraged, and they only seem to be tightening the screws.
But their regime has met spirited resistance from airline workers and first responders, raising the prospect of police shortages at a time when crime is up.
Even L.A. County Sheriff Alex Villanueva has said he will not enforce the divisive and tyrannical mandate. “This is so politicized, I cannot in good conscience impose a mandate like that,” he said, according to Fox.
