A new caravan of mostly Haitian migrants has vowed to head from southern Mexico to the southern border of the U.S. in two weeks, just a month after up to 15,000 Haitian migrants overwhelmed Border Patrol in Del Rio, Texas.
“A migrant advocate in Southern Mexico says a Haitian caravan will depart for the U.S. border from Tapachula around Oct. 25 – with or without clearance from Mexico,” Border Report reported.

An Overwhelmed Border
Along Mexico’s southern border, thousands of migrants protested earlier this week over not being allowed to pass through Mexico on the way to the U.S.

The news also follows reports that Panama’s foreign minister Erika Mouynes shared as many as 60,000 migrants have passed through its country on the way to America.
“We’ve engaged with every single authority that we can think of, that we can come across, to say, ‘Please, let’s pay attention to this,'” Mouynes said, according to Axios.
Bigger Than Del Rio?
The massive migrant camp under the Del Rio bridge drew national attention as up to 15,000 mostly Haitians migrants gathered in just a few days.
Some are suggesting the Del Rio event will be dwarfed by the size of coming migrant caravans. If 60,000 migrants approached the southern border in large groups in one month, it could create multiple locations like those seen in Del Rio.
A group of 10 GOP governors joined Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott at the border in Mission, Texas, on Wednesday to respond. Among their 10 points, the governors agreed a strong National Guard presence is necessary to protect the nation’s border.
Once migrants enter, it will be hard to remove them under the Biden administration’s policies. Reports have noted more than 12,000 of the Haitian migrants were released into the country.
The coming border war may sound like hype, but it appears to be shaping up as a grim reality in the near future as the federal government refuses to enforce border laws.
