Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) wants Democratic elites to get a firsthand experience of the illegal immigration nightmare that they helped to create.
The Daily Caller reports that Cruz just introduced a piece of legislation that would put a processing center for illegal immigrants in some of the most elite Democratic communities.
Cruz, in the legislation, which is being called the Stop the Surge Act, names 13 new ports of entry. They would be located in Newport and Block Island, Rhode Island; Greenwich, Connecticut; North Hero, Vermont; St. Helena, Yountville, and Palo Alto, California; Scarsdale and Governors Island, New York; Rehoboth Beach, Deleware; and Nantucket, Cambridge, and Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.
Cruz’s legislation would require all illegal immigrants caught at border patrol sectors in Texas to be transferred to one of these 13 locations for processing.

Cruz took direct aim at President Joe Biden and the Democrats while introducing this legislation.
“For the past ten months, President Biden and his administration have willingly surrendered the United States’ southern border to dangerous criminal cartels, with no thought given to the South Texas border communities like McAllen and Del Rio, which are running low on resources from dealing with this massive influx of illegal immigrants,” Cruz said.
He continued: “That’s why today I am introducing this crucial legislation to alleviate the massive overload at the southern border by establishing new ports of entry in Democrat-led communities such as North Hero, Vermont, where Bernie Sanders spends his summers, and Martha’s Vineyard, where Democrat elites host their cocktail parties.”
Cruz went on to state his belief that “if Washington Democrats had to endure even a fraction of the suffering South Texas families, farmers, ranchers, and small businesses have had to face, our nation’s immigration laws would be enforced, the wall would be built, and the Remain in Mexico policy would be re-implemented.”
And, Cruz concluded: “President Biden and Democrats need to step up to defend our southern border and support our heroic Customs and Border Protection officials.”

The numbers have yet to be officially released. But, according to a report from Breitbart, which comes from “highly placed” insiders, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) had nearly 2 million illegal alien encounters during Fiscal Year 2021, which just ended on September 30th. Breitbart separately reported that this figure includes 1.66 million illegal alien apprehensions, which would be a new record.
This all has resulted from President Biden’s immigration policies. Once illegal aliens saw these policies, the surge was on, and it hasn’t stopped since.
It would be nice to see the Democrat elites experiencing firsthand what they created. But, with the current makeup of the government, it is unlikely that Cruz’s bill will get anywhere.
