Aaron Rodgers won’t back down from what critics are calling ‘racist’ remarks

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is known for facing tough opposition. However, the football player recently found himself targeted off the field over comments he recently made during a game.

Yet, despite being attacked by left-wing critics, Rodgers recently made clear that he has no intention of backing down. According to Fox News, the controversy started with remarks he made after scoring a touchdown during a game against the Chicago Bears, which some have labeled as “racist.”

After scoring an important six-yard rushing touchdown towards the end of the fourth quarter, Rodgers turned to fans of the rival team in the endzone and yelled, “I’ve owned you all my f—ing life! I own you. I still own you!”

Racist comments?

Some complained that Rodgers’ remarks carried negative racial overtones, something was evident in the comments section of NBC Sports’ Pro-Football Talk article.

One commenter insisted, “Everyone should find this language offensive because it means he’s the master and the Bear fans are the slave.”

“It’s completely racist language,” the Rodgers critic insisted, adding, “The media should be ashamed of promoting this kind of language. I own you.”

Rodgers hits back

However, Mediaite noted that Rodgers offered no apologies when he discussed the incident during an interview Tuesday afternoon with sports analyst Pat McAfee, saying “There’s a PC woke culture that exists.”

“And there’s a cancel culture at the same time and it’s based on people’s own feelings of maybe personal miserability or distaste for their own situations or life or just the enjoyment of holding other people down underneath their thumb,'” the star quarterback continued.

He added: “Pick a topic, from my family to my leadership style…they run with these stories and when I respond to it…then I’m being sensitive.”

Rodgers complained of a “game within the game,” and stressed that when a “player abides by the rules of the game, he’s part of the game.”

“The rules of the game are you must acquiesce with the woke mob at all times,” Rodgers explained. “However, when you live above the game, the game does not exist and that’s where I’m at.”
