The Biden administration’s COVID-19 narrative appears to be unraveling at the seams.
Breitbart reports that Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is seemingly trying to downplay the reasonable idea that untested, potentially sick illegal immigrants are likely a contributing factor to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in America.
Her defense comes in the wake of a number of high-profile Republicans who blame the immigration crisis at the southern U.S. border as a reason for the COVID-19 case spikes across the country.
Walensky blames southerners
Walensky’s comments came on Friday during an appearance on the Fox News Channel’s Special Report. During the show, host Brett Baier asked Walensky about the possibility that migrants are spreading COVID-19 in America.
“Do you know the surge, how the surge of illegal immigrants with COVID is affecting the overall rate, you know, it sounds like the percentages down there on the border are astronomical?” Baier asked.
“Yeah, you know, I would say that the percentages in the southern part of this country are really quite high,” Walensky replied. “I don’t necessarily think we can attribute all of that to what’s going on at the southern border.”
Walensky added: “I think what we really need to do is spend our time getting our communities vaccinated, to getting our individuals vaccinated to prevent disease from transmitting in our communities.”
The proof exists
It’s well known and documented that the COVID-19 virus has been found in illegal immigrants who have recently entered the country. In a previous Fox News report, a whistleblower revealed that at the migrant children detention center in Fort Bliss, Texas, COVID-19 infections were widespread among the detained immigrants and worse, the virus was reportedly passed on to employees.
At the same time, other reports revealed that the Biden administration has released illegal aliens sick with the virus into local communities.
However, most of that information goes against the White House’s narrative on the subject. As a result, it doesn’t seem to receive the media attention that it deserves.
Instead, the Biden administration has been pinning most of the blame for the rise in COVID-19 cases on the unvaccinated, which the left falsely claims to be, by and large, Republicans.
Walensky, in fact, has said this repeatedly over the past week, with her remark about “southern” Americans a not-so-subtle implication that it’s unvaccinated, right-leaning Americans responsible for the current surge.
