Rancher’s lawsuit claims Biden farm-aid plan seeks to ‘racially humiliate’ white Americans

Although his administration portrays his agenda as the pursuit of equity, white business owners and farmers are claiming in court that President Joe Biden’s policies constitute discrimination against them.

In one case, a Wyoming rancher has filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration over “blatantly anti-white” aspects of pandemic-related federal farm assistance.

“We’ve all struggled”

Leisl Carpenter spoke out on the issue at length during an appearance on Fox News Channel’s Hannity.

Although farmers of all races have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 crisis, she said the president does not seem to see it that way. Biden has attracted criticism for excluding white farmers from programs including the $4 billion fund to forgive up to 120% of loans distributed to “socially disadvantaged” Americans.

Carpenter, who owns the Flying Heart Ranch, complained that the Biden administration is leaving out “95%” of ranchers based on their skin color.

“Everybody deserves this aid because we’ve all struggled,” she said, noting that the ranching and farming industry had represented a “losing proposition” long before the pandemic.

According to her lawyer, the court action seeks to “re-defeat” the same kind of racial discrimination that became illegal decades ago.

“Intentionally discriminate against others”

“We all work just as hard, day in, day out,” the ranch owner said. “We work year-round trying to provide a safe, nutritious, top-of-the-line supply.”

Biden is finding that the race-based proposals are tougher than ever to defend in court.

He was recently forced to abandon one relief program that put white business owners at the back of the line. A federal judge in Wisconsin ordered a pause on his administration’s loan forgiveness plan for farmers.

In his decision on the matter, Milwaukee District Judge William Griesbach wrote that the “obvious response to a government agency that claims it continues to discriminate against farmers because of their race or national origin is to direct it to stop” rather than “intentionally discriminate against others on the basis of their race.”

Carpenter also addressed the motivation for her lawsuit in a recent New York Post op-ed, writing: “I’m a sixth-generation rancher and a proud female ranch owner. Biden’s law is seemingly designed to racially humiliate Americans like me.”
