‘Que Mala’: Harris mocked by protesters during trip to US-Mexico border

Weeks after getting mocked by Guatemalans who told her that “Trump won,” Vice President Kamala Harris was heckled with similar messages in El Paso, Texas, on Friday.

According to the Washington Examiner, protesters who staked out “Que Mala’s” first trip to America’s southern border said the visit came “too late,” after Harris spent months ignoring a migration crisis there that still hasn’t let up.

The VP’s trip was, on its own terms, a bit of an own goal after she dismissed a tour of the border as a “grand gesture” only weeks before while visiting Latin America. But she apparently had a change of heart, and was in El Paso on Friday to face quashing criticism about her absence.

A not-so-warm welcome

According to reports, Harris was greeted by protesters with signs that read, “Kamala, you know Trump won,” and “Que Mala hates Mexicans.” Another sign questioned “how many little girls” would become victims of sexual assault before President Joe Biden declares the migrant surge a crisis.

Republican congressional candidate Irene Armendariz-Jackson said that Harris “came a little too late” and called her out for pretending to care, according to Fox News.

Another protester told Harris she made a “wrong turn” and quipped, “This isn’t Europe,” alluding to a cringeworthy interview that overshadowed Harris’ trip to Guatemala and Mexico earlier this June, Fox reported.

Harris left White House insiders shaking their heads when she blurted out that she had not been to Europe as she struggled to explain why she had not yet been to the border. On that trip, Guatemala’s president had also blamed her and Biden for creating the ongoing migrant crisis with unrealistic policies.

Harris flounders at home and abroad

The vice president has managed the border crisis by steering attention away from the problem with a focus on “root causes” driving Central Americans to flee their native countries.

The scene in El Paso on Friday recalled that from Guatemala, when protesters told Harris to “go home” and similarly declared, “Trump won,” according to the New York Post.

Harris also showed flashes of irritation as she snapped at a journalist and insisted it wasn’t her “first” trip to the border, as many continue to criticize her for waiting so long to see the crisis firsthand. “I’ve been to the border many times,” she flared, as The Sun reported.

Former President Donald Trump, for his part, has said that Harris only went to the border because he himself plans to go there soon. “It is great that we got Kamala Harris to finally go and see the tremendous destruction and death that they’ve created,” Trump quipped, according to the Examiner.

Harris is apparently so popular that she can’t go anywhere without a coterie of sycophants in tow. Embarrassing.
