Trump blames Biden for making world ‘more violent and unstable’ amid Palestinian attacks on Israel

The most violent hostility in years has broken out in recent days between Palestinian militants and Israel.

For his part, former President Donald Trump took aim at his successor for a perceived lack of support for a key ally since Inauguration Day.

“There would be swift retribution”

In a statement marking the mounting violence in Israel, Trump issued a statement insisting that President Joe Biden is creating a “more violent and unstable” world through his foreign policies.

He went on to tout the success of his own administration, declaring that “Israel’s adversaries knew that the United States stood strongly with Israel and there would be swift retribution if Israel was attacked.”

As of Wednesday, days of rocket strikes had left 65 Palestinians — including 16 children — dead. Two children were among the seven Israelis killed in the violence. Hundreds of Palestinians and dozens of Israelis have reportedly been injured.

In a statement on Wednesday, Israeli forces confirmed that they took out a top Hamas operative in strikes that leveled buildings in the Gaza Strip hours after its advanced rocket defense system intercepted a bombardment of missiles aimed at Tel Aviv.

Trump, who made support for Israel a cornerstone of his campaign and administration, blamed Biden for insufficiently carrying on that policy.

“A right to defend itself”

“Under Biden, the world is getting more violent and more unstable because Biden’s weakness and lack of support for Israel is leading to new attacks on our allies,” the former president said.

While Trump’s response was noteworthy, it did not represent the only political pressure being put on the Biden administration to forcefully intervene on Israel’s behalf.

Following a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Biden confirmed on Wednesday that the nation “has a right to defend itself.”

Although some in the Democratic Party’s far-left wing are using the situation to criticize the Jewish state, U.S. Secretary of State condemned the “terrorists who are raining down rockets on Israel.”

The U.S. faces serious issues on several fronts amid the fallout from a dismal jobs report, evidence of creeping inflation, and fuel shortages. Regardless of Biden’s domestic plans, however, it is clear that events on the global stage also require his attention.
