‘Keep that between us’: Email suggests Joe Biden dined with son and foreign business associates

President Joe Biden has long contended that he had no role in controversial deals between his son Hunter and foreign business partners. According to the New York Post, however, the elder Biden was serving as vice president when he attended a dinner with an executive at Burisma Holdings.

The Ukrainian energy company was the subject of substantial news coverage regarding Hunter Biden’s lucrative role on its board.

“Manipulated and lied to blatantly”

The new revelation comes as just the latest chapter in a scandal that came to partially define the 2020 presidential election cycle.

Columnist Will Cain recently argued that the bombshell should not come as a surprise to anyone who has been paying attention to the facts.

“What is our appetite for manipulation and lies?” he asked during an appearance on Fox News Channel’s The Faulkner Focus. “Because you have been manipulated and lied to blatantly, not even surreptitiously but blatantly for more than a year.”

For its part, the Post found its content restricted on social media last year over evidence recovered from an abandoned laptop believed to have belonged to Hunter Biden.

Now, email evidence seems to bolster the argument that the president played some part in the international dealings of his son.

“Dad will be there”

Earlier reports detailed a correspondence in which Joe Biden was apparently labeled the “Big Guy.” One Burisma executive reportedly thanked Hunter Biden for the “honor and pleasure” of meeting his well-connected father.

The latest details describe a 2015 dinner at the private Garden Room at Cafe Milano, a D.C. hotspot frequented by powerful political figures.

In addition to the then-vice president, the guest list included Yelena Baturina, a Russian oligarch who reportedly wired $3.5 million to Hunter Biden the previous year. Another attendee was Marc Holtzman, the chairman of Kazakhstan’s largest bank.

One email included what might be seen as a smoking gun from the younger Biden, who wrote: “Ok — the reason for the dinner is ostensibly to discuss food security. Dad will be there but keep that between us for now.”

As new evidence evokes additional questions about Joe Biden’s possible involvement in his son’s shady business deals, the president appears to be receiving some cover from the mainstream media as he faces questions this week on topics like ice cream.
