Trump reportedly set to revive campaign-style rallies in near future

Former President Donald Trump has been increasingly vocal since leaving office, but he is reportedly poised to make an even more dramatic return to the public arena.

As soon as next month, Trump is expected to bring back his signature campaign-style rallies, according to recent reports.

“I am looking at it very seriously”

Speculation about the return of these rallies comes after months of speculation surrounding his future political plans. If accurate, it appears Trump wants to more aggressively target President Joe Biden and the Democratic Party’s agenda — not to mention rivals within the GOP — after weeks of speaking out against partisan foes in press releases and media interviews.

Of course, he has been limited in his ability to reach supporters directly since Twitter suspended his account shortly after the Capitol Hill riot earlier this year.

Trump’s social media statements had long served as a link to his base and served as the basis for countless news cycles. His frequently raucous campaign rallies, which proved popular among supporters, served a similar role.

Whether he is getting back on the campaign trail to lay the groundwork for a 2024 White House bid remains to be seen, but he is clearly keen on fueling the speculation.

During a recent interview with Fox News Channel host Sean Hannity, he said: “I am looking at it very seriously, beyond seriously. From a legal standpoint, I don’t want to really talk about it yet.”

“When I endorse people it means a lot”

While he still retains widespread support from millions of Republican voters, he could face fierce primary challengers if he decides to seek a second term. In any case, the next presidential race is a long way off and political operatives on both sides of the aisle remain focused on next year’s midterm elections.

Since leaving office, Trump has reached an uneasy truce with the GOP even as he has spoken out against many of its establishment leaders along with others who have opposed him and his agenda.

He called out Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Thursday, insisting that the party should ditch him before the midterms.

As for his own role in the upcoming congressional races, the former president understands the influence he wields in the form of candidate endorsements.

“I’m looking at the right people to endorse and when I endorse people it means a lot,” he said in an interview this week. “I think we’re going to have a great victory in 2022.”
