Former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany joins Fox News as contributor

Former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany was announced on Tuesday as a Fox News contributor during an interview with Harris Faulkner on his show “Faulkner Focus.”

“And it is my distinct pleasure today to welcome Kayleigh McEnany to the Fox family,” Faulkner said. “We will be seeing much more of her in the future.”

McEnany was a contributor at CNN before her time as press secretary, and she also worked as a spokesperson for the Republican National Committee.

McEnany had planned final press conference

In the interview, which was her first since Trump left office in January, McEnany said she was sad that the Capitol riot stopped her from doing a final press conference to celebrate Trump’s accomplishments as president.

“I wanted to do a press briefing on the way out about all the great achievements of this administration, and all the good that I felt that the president had done,” McEnany said. “We didn’t get the opportunity to do that because obviously Jan. 6th, it just was something that was not tenable.”

The day after the riot took place, McEnany read a two-minute statement denouncing the riot and separating the Trump administration from it.

The rioters were the “opposite of everything that this administration stands for,” she said. “The core value of our administration is the idea that all citizens have the right to live in safety, peace and freedom.”

Insiders fume over McEnany hire

Fox News insiders were reportedly unhappy with McEnany’s hire, particularly given the anti-Trump sentiment that exists among some staff and hosts at the network.

“It’s truly disgusting they fired hard-working journalists who did care about facts and news reporting only to turn around and hire a mini-Goebbels whose incessant lies from the White House helped incite an insurrection on our democracy that got five people killed, including a police officer,” one staffer fumed, according to the Daily Beast.

Another employee reportedly said, “There is no objectivity in this business anymore. It’s a self-serving profiteering enterprise.” The McEnany was about “name recognition, notoriety, an obvious willingness to say anything her employer desires. The viewers are morons.”

It’s sad that Fox News employees would label their viewers morons, and that lack of respect for differing views could be so rampant at a news organization that prides itself on showing opposing views.

McEnany is extremely well-spoken and actually answered the press’s questions, unlike “Circle-back” Jen Psaki. She will make an excellent addition to Fox News’s lineup.
