President Joe Biden has long faced speculation that he is not fit for the job and Vice President Kamala Harris is actually calling the shots for his administration. Of course, Biden’s own statements are not helping.
In his latest gaffe, the president referred for at least the second time to Harris as the president.
“President Harris took a virtual tour”
The slipup came during a speech on Thursday during which he focused on his administration’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout.
“This is really important,” he said. “Because we believe speed and efficiency must be matched with fairness and equity.”
Biden went on to declare that “President Harris took a virtual tour of a vaccination center in Arizona long ago,” referencing “one of the nurses on that tour” who described injecting the vaccine as “administering a dose of hope.”
According to Breitbart, the president made a similar mistake prior to his inauguration.
In December, he was delivering another speech related to the nation’s COVID-19 response, declaring: “I hope the president will clearly and unambiguously urge all Americans to take the vaccine once it’s available. I took it to instill public confidence in the vaccine. President-elect Harris took hers today for the same reason.”
“She’s ready to lead on day one”
Biden also sparked speculation with a tweet in August that signaled his confidence in Harris as a leader.
“If [Harris] and I are elected, we’re going to inherit multiple crises, a nation divided, and a world in disarray,” he wrote. “We won’t have a minute to waste. That’s exactly why I picked her: She’s ready to lead on day one.”
For her part, the vice president referred to the “Harris administration” in remarks she made just weeks before Election Day.
Fox News Channel personality Sean Hannity raised the issue of who is “really in charge” of the Biden administration in an on-air segment last month.
“Biden is now reportedly encouraging his vice president to engage directly with world leaders — that would be his job — and by the way, even develop her own rapport with U.S. allies,” Hannity said. “Harris has also been meeting weekly with Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. So the question tonight is, why?”
