Tucker Carlson to launch new video podcast, Fox Nation series

Tucker Carlson is making career moves at Fox News.

The network announced in a press release that its immensely popular host is starting a new video podcast and an all-new original series with the subscription-only service Fox Nation.

New moves

Starting in April, Carlson will reportedly appear in three video podcasts every week as well as a monthly series of in-depth, long-form investigative reports called Tucker Carlson Originals, also launching in April. A trailer has been released.

He will be joined by the same production team behind his record-breaking primetime show, Tucker Carlson Tonight. He will keep hosting the 8 p.m. ET show.

“This is my twelfth year at Fox News and I’ve never been more grateful to be here,” Carlson said, according to the release. “As other media outlets fall silent or fall in line, Fox News Media’s management has redoubled its commitment to honesty and freedom of speech. I consider that heroic at a time like this.”

Fox Nation president Jason Klarman said the moves will likely add viewers to the growing Fox Nation platform.

“As we continue to expand and evolve as a service, adding exclusive content from Tucker Carlson will make Fox Nation a must-have service for his most passionate fans,” he said.

Branching out

Carlson joined Fox in 2009 as a contributor, then went to Fox & Friends Weekend as a co-host in 2012 before landing his own primetime show. Since launching Tucker Carlson Tonight in 2016, Carlson has become one of the most popular hosts in cable news history.

In October, he set the record for the highest monthly viewers in cable history, netting 5.4 million, and according to Fox’s news release, he has been the highest-rated host in the 8 p.m. hour for 46 months straight. His show averaged 3.6 million viewers last month, with 653,000 in the coveted 25–54 demographic.

A fierce advocate of free speech, Carlson is known for his provocative monologues often savaging America’s ruling class. But his success has made his show a constant target of leftist cancel mobs.

The Fox News host also commented briefly on the development on his nightly show, where he said two episodes of his new series are in production focusing on the Green New Deal. The new content will allow Carlson to investigate the topics from his nightly show at greater depth, he explained.

“At a time when the Big Tech companies have decided to shut down all inconvenient facts and opinions, Fox Nation is protected,” Carlson said.
