Democratic Party hires former gangster to promote diversity

The Democratic Party has hired a former gangster who recently defended looting as a form of “protest” for a top post, Fox News reported.

Dyjuan Tatro, who was convicted for violent crimes as the “triggerman” of an Albany gang, was taken on as a senior adviser to promote “diversity and inclusion” for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Tatro served time for multiple crimes

Before landing his latest gig, Tatro was involved in some heavy crime as a member of the Albany-based Original Gangsta Killas gang. He was sentenced to six years in prison for racketeering conspiracy in 2011, while already serving time for a 2006 double shooting of rival gang members, the New York Post reported.

Tatro confessed to the shootings and a “razor slashing” in 2003, as well as selling drugs to the tune of $12,000 a month and conspiring to traffic more than 50 grams of crack cocaine.

New York State Republicans slammed Rep. Patrick Maloney (D-DY)’s hiring decision, calling it “on-brand” for Democrats soft on crime.

“It’s certainly on-brand for criminal-coddling Democrats, but the rest of America will find it disturbing that a murderous gang member is holding a prominent position with the DCCC,” said New York state Republican Party Chairman Nick Langworthy.

“Second chances are one thing, but I would have to question Congressman Maloney’s judgment to put someone with such a violent past at the top of their organization,” he added.

Defended looting, bashed cops

Democrats slammed a “trash” headline from the New York Post and defended the hiring, saying Tatro had turned his life around and was doing valuable work to reform injustice. He has worked as a criminal justice reform advocate since his release from prison in 2017.

“Dyjuan is a formerly incarcerated person who has worked hard to change the trajectory of his life through education and service to his community,” a DCCC spokesperson said.

While Democrats say he’s been “reformed,” Tatro defended looting this summer as a form of “protest” against “systemic racism,” Fox News reported. He also supports defunding police and has bashed police officers as irredeemable “Nazis” and “white supremacists.”

“I don’t understand why you can’t CONDEMN VIOLENT POLICE [and] acknowledge LOOTING as a VITAL form of social PROTEST,” he tweeted in August.

Upon receiving the new job, Tatro tweeted, “Today is a great day to hire a formerly incarcerated person.”
