Maxine Waters says US military may have to intervene to remove Trump from White House: ‘He can’t stay’
California Rep. Maxine Waters (D) is spending what could be the end of Donald Trump’s presidency much as she started it.
The controversial Democrat told MSNBC that she would like to see Trump “marched out” of the White House by the military if he refuses to leave of his own volition, the Washington Examiner reported Wednesday.
“I would like to see him marched out”
Of course, Waters is hardly the only Democrat to entertain such fantasies.
She was responding to a similar comment from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who offered a less Hollywood version, saying she would like to pull Trump out of the White House by the hair (prayerfully, one assumes). For her part, Waters said that the Pentagon may have to get involved if “rumors” that Trump wants to invoke “martial war [sic]” to stay in power prove true.
“We want him out, and we keep hearing these rumors about everything that he’s doing to try and stay in. We’ve even heard rumors that he said he’s not leaving,” Waters said Tuesday, according to Breitbart. “I would like to see him marched out of there. I don’t know whether it’s the Secret Service or whether it’s military or what have you, but he can’t stay.”

According to the Washington Examiner, Waters also said Trump “can’t claim, you know, ownership of the White House. He doesn’t want to leave, and he’s doing everything possible, including talking about martial war [sic], etc., etc. We want him out of there. I know Nancy Pelosi is counting down the hours. She told me that also,” the congresswoman charged.
Waters is still rambling
Trump’s possible imprisonment, and whether the military might have to force him to relinquish power, have been recurring fascinations of his opponents for years.
Waters herself has long maintained that Trump should be jailed for an elaborate conspiracy with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, something of which she is apparently still convinced.
The Democrat said just on Sunday that Congress “missed an opportunity” by not impeaching Trump for “treason” over his some kind of connection with the Russian Federation, Fox News reported.
Waters also infamously stoked controversy in 2018 when she encouraged her supporters to “create a crowd” and harass Trump’s staffers wherever they may be found.
For his part, Trump has continued to challenge what he calls a “rigged” election. He recently dismissed speculation of martial law, however, calling it “fake news,” according to the New York Post.
