Biden says ‘President-elect Harris’ has received her coronavirus vaccine

During and after a campaign full of gaffes and verbal missteps, some observers openly worried that Joe Biden may not be up to the task of running the country — and this week, the former vice president did nothing to tamp down on those concerns.

In fact, Biden may have even fanned the flames of growing rumors that his running mate, Kamala Harris, may soon take over for him in the Oval Office. According to Breitbart, Biden spilled the beans at a talk in Delaware on Tuesday when he referred to Harris as the “president-elect.”

“President-elect Harris”

“I hope the president will clearly and unambiguously urge all Americans to take the vaccine once it’s available,” Biden said from behind a podium, according to Breitbart.

“I took it to instill public confidence in the vaccine,” he added. “President-elect Harris took hers today for the same reason.”

Take a look at Biden’s latest blunder for yourself:

The gaffes continue

Of course, this is far from the first time that Biden has appeared to suggest it will be Harris — and not him — who will be in the driver’s seat come Jan. 20.

In an interview earlier this month with CNN’s Jake Tapper, the former VP joked that if he and Harris ever have “a fundamental disagreement” that is “based on a moral principle,” then he will “develop some disease and say ‘I have to resign’” from office.

Biden also tweeted in August that he had selected Harris as his running mate because she would be “ready to lead on day one,” Breitbart reported. And when the soon-to-be-former California senator referred to “a Harris administration” before correcting herself in September, it didn’t help matters.

“He’s a different guy”

It all comes after two years of Biden’s embarrassing — and frequent — blunders making headlines: Biden told voters on the campaign trail that he was running for a seat in the United States Senate, according to Fox News, and he even appeared to forget what state he was in on one occasion.

In September, the Washington Free Beacon quoted former White House stenographer Mike McCormick as saying that Biden’s “mental acuity” had clearly deteriorated.

“He’s lost a step and he doesn’t seem to have the same mental acuity as he did four years ago,” McCormick said of Biden. “He doesn’t have the energy, he doesn’t have the pace of his speaking. He’s a different guy.”
