Democrats can shout about Russia until they’re blue in the face, but the scandal surrounding Hunter Biden is “real as real can be,” according to Republican Rep. Jim Jordan (OH).
The Republican lawmaker said that he has independently verified emails that implicate former Vice President Joe Biden in corruption involving his son’s business, the Washington Examiner reported Sunday.
“We have the eyewitness”
In an interview alongside fellow Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA), Jordan told Fox News Channel’s Sunday Morning Futures that the emails are indeed authentic and that no one has shown otherwise.
“We have the eyewitness, Mr. [Tony] Bobulinski, who said these are authentic, these are real,” Jordan said, according to Fox News.
The emails, which were publicized by the New York Post, appear to show that the former vice president knew more about his son’s business dealings than he admitted publicly. The controversy deepened when Tony Bobulinski, a former business partner of Hunter’s, accused Joe Biden last week of being involved with his son’s business in China, Fox News reported.
Bobulinski said that Joe Biden is the “big guy” mentioned in a 2017 email that was found on Hunter Biden’s laptop, the contents of which were leaked to the Post by a computer repairman.
“The reference to ‘the Big Guy’ in the much publicized May 13, 2017 email is in fact a reference to Joe Biden,” Bobulinski said in a statement to Fox News.
“Those facts are true”
Days before Bobulinski came forward, Jordan claimed to have independently verified the emails with his staff.
“Our staff has had numerous conversations…which have independently confirmed for us that in fact these emails are real, they’re authentic,” Jordan told the Trump campaign on a call, as Breitbart reported.
Despite mounting evidence and the fact that no one in the Biden camp has disputed the authenticity of the emails, many in the mainstream media have ignored the scandal, asserting without evidence that it’s all a Russian conspiracy to interfere in the election.
“Why won’t the press be asking that fundamental question, that basic question, Mr. Biden, are these actually accurate? Is this Hunter Biden’s laptop? And, in fact, are you ‘the big guy?’ They won’t ask him that question, but the American people know those facts are true,” Jordan told Fox.
“They’ve never tried to attack these documents,” Collins, for his part, opined. “They just give broad, sweeping arguments, saying, ‘Oh, it’s not real.'”
