With a comment Tuesday, Joe Biden acknowledged the notion that he would not actually be running the White House if elected.
While campaigning in Atlanta, the Democrat White House hopeful referred to himself in jest as Kamala Harris’ running mate, The Epoch Times reported.
“My name is Joe Biden. I’m Jill Biden’s husband, and I’m Kamala’s running mate,” the former vice president said with a laugh, according to the Times. “Y’all think I’m kidding don’t you?”
A Harris administration?
Although Joe Biden appears to have been joking, questions about his health have driven speculation for some time that he is only the frontrunner in name.
President Donald Trump has often referred to Biden as a “puppet” and “Trojan horse” of the radical left, and both Biden and Harris encouraged rumors along those lines in September when they referred to a Harris administration by mistake in separate remarks.
“A Harris–Biden administration is going to relaunch that effort and keep pushing it further to make it easier for military spouses and veterans to find meaningful careers, to ensure teachers know how to support military children in their classrooms,” Biden said at the time, according to Fox News.
Elsewhere, Harris spoke of “a Harris administration, together with Joe Biden as the president of the United States,” before correcting herself: “The Biden–Harris administration will provide access to $100 billion in low-interest loans and investments from minority business owners.”
Questions about Biden remain
While last time it was an unforced error, it looks like Biden is now approaching the elephant in the room with a hint of knowing irony.
President Trump’s press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, highlighted Biden’s latest remarks in Wednesday tweet, as Just The News reported. “Joe Biden confirms what we all knew: ‘I am Kamala’s running mate.'” she wrote. “‘KAMALA’ sign is prominently displayed behind him.”

This all comes as Biden has continued to draw scrutiny for his lightweight approach to campaigning. With just days to go before Election Day, the Democrat is keeping a light schedule and keeping press engagement to a minimum, further feeding attacks that he is not prepared for the presidency. Meanwhile, Trump has been holding multiple rallies each day.
“The reason it looks like we’re not traveling — we’re not putting on superspreaders,” Biden explained on Monday, according to Fox News. “We are doing what we’re doing here. Everyone is wearing a mask and trying the best they can to be socially distanced… It’s important to be responsible.”
