Chris Wallace pledges to ask Biden for interview ‘every week’ until he accepts

In a flip from the norm, it looks like Fox News host Chris Wallace may actually agree with Donald Trump.

As President Trump accuses Joe Biden of hiding from voters, Wallace is promising to pressure the Democrat White House hopeful for an interview “every week” until the candidate accepts, according to the Washington Examiner.

“The president is out there”

While sometimes disparaged as a Trump hater by critics, Wallace is known for asking tough questions — and it looks like he is just as keen to go after the president’s rival. After a hardball interview with Trump on July 19, Wallace gave credit to the president for showing up and invited Biden to endure the same kind of grilling, as Fox News reported.

“The fact is, the president is out there,” Wallace told Bret Baier, according to Fox. “He’s out there in this broiling heat with me for an hour, he took all the questions. You can like his answers or dislike them but he had answers and Joe Biden hasn’t faced that kind of scrutiny, hasn’t faced that kind of exposure.”

The following Sunday, Wallace chastised Biden for snubbing his invitation, warning that he’ll keep “asking every week,” the Examiner noted.

Another Sunday passed, and Biden was nowhere in sight. The Democrat has not appeared on Wallace’s show since March 1, shortly after his South Carolina primary triumph.

Wallace’s warning

But with the election approaching, the Democrat candidate is facing scrutiny for appearing to avoid the spotlight. For his part, Trump looks to be raring for a fight.

“Let Biden sit through an interview like this,” Trump told Wallace during their often contentious conversation, according to Mediaite. “He’ll be on the ground crying for mommy. He’ll say, ‘Mommy, mommy, please, take me home.’”

Trump and his allies have continued to ramp up the pressure on Biden to stop “hiding in his basement” and debate Trump, as speculation brews that the Democrat is afraid to go one-on-one.

Wallace, apparently sharing these sentiments, warned Biden Friday that he is only hurting his own chances by failing to prepare.

“You know, you have to get into game shape like you would for a sports season or anything else,” he told Bill Hemmer, according to Fox, “and I think that if you haven’t, you may be a little rusty — which is not a good thing when 80 million people are watching.”

What’s Biden so afraid of?
