Tara Reade accused presumptive Democrat nominee Joe Biden of sexually assaulting her in 1993 when she worked for him as an aide.
Though she revealed the bombshell allegations in March, the Democrat establishment and mainstream media have been largely silent on the matter. This led Reade to call out Democrats and the media during a recent interview for “protecting a powerful man without giving my case a closer look.”
Media ignores it
When Christine Blasey Ford came out with her accusations against then-Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh, the media coverage was relentless. The media was also sympathetic to Blasey Ford’s claims, presenting her story as entirely bulletproof.
Reade has been afforded no such courtesy. In fact, since the allegations were made, the mainstream media has done everything in its power to pretend like she never said anything.
Most recently, three female potential Vice President candidates were interviewed by CNN’s “State of the Union,” NBC’s “Meet the Press,” ABC’s “This Week,” CBS’s “Face the Nation” and Fox’s “Fox News Sunday.”
The Daily Caller News Foundation found that not a single host asked any of the candidates to address the accusations.
On Saturday, Reade herself appeared on Fox News and said that “I’ve received either slanted reporting that ended up being talking points for Biden’s campaign or silence from the mainstream media. So that’s my contention and my concern.”
Establishment is silent
Reade also blasted female former presidential candidates Sens. Kamala Harris (D-CA), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), all of whom present themselves as feminists.
“What I’d like to say to […] some of the silence from some the candidates Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, Elizabeth Warren that at this point, if you continue to silence me, if you continue to engage in protecting a powerful man without giving my case a closer look, you are complicit in rape,” Reade said.
After the Daily Caller News Foundation reached out to every single Democrat Senator for comment on Reade’s case, not a single Senator replied, adding to the growing body of evidence that there is a cover-up in progress.
Despite the credible claims that Reade has made, Democrats continue to endorse Biden without taking a second look. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), was the latest to jump on the bandwagon, offering her official endorsement of Biden on Monday.
“I’m proud to endorse Joe Biden for president of the United States because he will be an extraordinary president,” Pelosi said the video announcement. “Joe Biden brings values and integrity to work every day, because he never forgets his roots.”
