Former Vice President Joe Biden got a little heated in an interview after he was pressed about the appointment of his son, Hunter Biden, to the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings.
During the interview on Monday, Today Show co-host Savannah Guthrie asked Biden if he sees “a certain irony” that the impeachment of President Donald Trump “ensured everyone knows” about Hunter’s position on the board of Burisma— after Trump was impeached for pushing Ukrainian officials to investigate the Bidens.

Guthrie pressed Biden on if he thought it was “wrong” for his son to take the position on the board, “Knowing that it was really because that company wanted access to you.”
“Well, that’s not true,” Biden snapped. “You’re saying things you do not know what you’re talking about. No one’s said that. Who said that? Who said that?”
Guthrie pushed back, noting that some people could see the appointment as “sleazy” and wonder, “Why would he have that job if not for who his father was?”
“Because he’s a very bright guy,” Biden responded.
Biden has denied that there was anything improper, other than that it created the image impropriety, about his son being named to Burisma’s board while he was in office.
