Lindsey Graham says impeachment is over when Pelosi, Tlaib are ‘fired’

President Trump’s impeachment trial has drawn to a close, with the Senate scheduled to vote Wednesday on whether it will convict or acquit him. While an acquittal is considered all but assured, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) doesn’t believe it will truly bring things to an end.

According to him, the specter of impeachment won’t go away until House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) are out of a job. Graham made that thought clear during a Sunday interview with Fox News personality Maria Bartiromo.

Graham: Impeachment ends when Trump is re-elected and Pelosi, Tlaib are fired

Senator Lindsey Graham weighs in on impeachment on ‘Sunday Morning Futures.’ FOX News operates the FOX News Channel (FNC), FOX Business Network (FBN), FOX News Radio, FOX News Headlines 24/7, FOXNews.com and the direct-to-consumer streaming service, FOX Nation. “Painful” ordeal

“Why will the vote to acquit the president be on Wednesday?” Bartiromo asked the South Carolina senator on Sunday. “Why not tomorrow?”

Graham chalked the continued delay up to intransigence, complaining, “Well, Democrats have the ability to drag out the trial.”

“There was an agreement reached to do it Wednesday at 4 o’clock, allow some Democratic candidates to go to Iowa,” he continued. “I think that had a lot to do with it.”

He went on to insist that “all Republicans will vote not guilty,” and even predicted that “we will pick up a handful of Democrats.”

“I’m glad this trial is coming to end. It’s the closest I ever want to be to being in purgatory,” Graham lamented, describing the ordeal as “painful.”

Time to oust Pelosi and Tlaib

Bartiromo next brought up a clip of Rep. Tlaib using profanity while promising to secure the president’s impeachment.

“When your son looks at you and says, momma, look, you won, bullies don’t win. And I said, baby, they don’t, because we’re going to go in there. We’re going to impeach the motherf–ker,” Tlaib announced to a cheering crowd. The Michigan congresswoman now sells t-shirts bearing that slogan.

When Bartiromo remarked, “This is not going to end, is it?” Graham suggested that was up to the electorate.

“It will only end when the American people reelect Donald Trump in November and fire Nancy Pelosi and Tlaib for being in charge of the House,” he insisted.

“If you want to exonerate the president, American people, and you want to deter future impeachments like this, make sure President Trump gets reelected. And let’s fire Nancy Pelosi.”
