Daily Caller releases compilation video: ‘Moments Joe Biden should’ve retired’

Presidential hopeful Joe Biden has long been called a “gaffe machine,” and on Tuesday, the Daily Caller put the spotlight on the former vice president’s blunders with a video highlighting “moments Joe Biden should’ve retired.”

The clip features some of the 77-year-old Democrat’s biggest blunders — and there were plenty to choose from.

Biden’s biggest blunders

In one moment shared by the Daily Caller, Biden couldn’t seem to remember former President Barack Obama’s name. In another, the former vice president isn’t sure which state he is in, noting how good it is to be back in Vermont while he is standing in New Hampshire.

“What’s not to like about it?” Biden asks.

Another clip features Biden confusing his website with the phone number for his campaign text line, telling viewers of a Democratic primary debate last summer: “If you agree with me, go to Joe 30330 and help me in this fight. Thank you very much.”

Yet another moment shared by the Daily Caller depicts Biden confusing Iraq with Iran. “Iran’s parliament, Iran’s parliament voted to eject all Americans,” Biden said in January. (While it’s true that there are U.S. troops in neighboring Iraq, there are no Americans stationed in Iran.)

The gaffes don’t stop

Biden also implies in part of the video that being white is synonymous with being wealthy. “Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids,” Biden said in August.

In a subsequent clip, Biden can’t coherently explain his Medicare plan. “The option I’m proposing is a ‘Medicare for All,’ uh, Medicare for choice,” he stumbles. “With the job from your insurance company, er, your employer, you automatically can buy into this, large savings.”

Looking forward

While initially considered his party’s primary frontrunner, Biden has begun to slip in the polls in recent weeks, and with just over 86% of precincts reporting, the former VP sat in fourth place in the Iowa caucuses on Wednesday night, according to Politico.

If he doesn’t make a comeback soon, it may be safe to assume that Biden’s frequent gaffes have voters less than confident in his ability to lead the country. As things stand, perhaps retirement wouldn’t be such a bad option for Joe 30330.
