While the left hasn’t succeeded in removing Donald Trump from the presidency yet, they’re finding more success in removing him from tech platforms.
According to a bombshell report from CBS’s 60 Minutes, Youtube, a video platform owned by tech giant Google, has removed over 300 of President Trump’s campaign ads from the platform this year.
Of course, YouTube denies that the removal was political, claiming that the ads violated “company policies.” But the report found that it wasn’t clear with policies were violated, leaving the president’s supporters suspicious that political targeting is at the heart of the removal.
CBS, an outlet that’s not been historically kind to Trump, noted:
60 Minutes reviewed the archive to learn more about President Trump’s problematic political ads. We found that over 300 video ads were taken down by Google and YouTube, mostly over the summer, for violating company policy. But the archive doesn’t detail what policy was violated. Was it copyright violation? A lie or extreme inaccuracy? Faulty grammar? Bad punctuation? It’s unclear. The ads determined to be offending are not available to be screened. We found very little transparency in the transparency report.
Freedom of speech is clearly not a priority with the big tech censors, and worse, transparency is even less so.
